Marcel Coenen - Lead-Guitar & Vocals



Marcel Coenen is the founder of Time Machine. Joe is one of Marcel's favorite guitarplayers and Marcel always enjoyed playing his songs and learning his style.

Marcel is born in Sittard, The Netherlands, at the 21st of September 1972. He started playing the guitar when he was 11 years old. When Marcel played for about three years he started playing in bands. With the band Speedica (speed/thrash metal) Marcel recorded his first LP, this was in 1989. This band later changed their name into FORM and an album called "I Choose My Own" was released in 1994. 

Around this time Marcel formed the band Lemur Voice. This band released two succesful albums (Insights, 1996 and Divided, 1999) but the band disbanded in the year 2000 due to differences in musical interests. 

Then Marcel started the band Sun Caged (click the name to go to the official site of the band), in which he still appears nowadays.

Marcel also plays in the metal coverband Stormrider (click the name to go to the official site of the band) and he is working hard on his solo career. In 2003 his instrumental CD "Guitartalk" was released and in 2006 he released his second solo album "Colour Journey" and a true Live DVD called "A Live Time Journey". Also did Marcel release an instructional DVD with guitar lessons, the DVD is called "Speed Up" and at Marcel's personal website you can find how to order his merchandise.
